The boy was taken to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, where he was diagnosed with first and second degree burns, police said. The boy also told police that his mother used a belt, leaving marks on his lower left leg, to discipline him for another incident in school, authorities said.
When police asked Williams about the incident, she said that “she slapped him, but did nothing else.”
She was arrested and taken to Broward County jail.
