Its Murder, not suicide

CLARENDON, Jamaica -- Contrary to reports circulated Tuesday that a man seen afloat in the Rio Minho in May Pen, Clarendon had jumped from the Rio Minho bridge, the police are today confirming that it is a case of murder and not a suspected suicide. The dead man has been identified as 39-year-old Andrew Walker, otherwise called "Shortman", a mechanic of Penguin Key, also in May Pen. Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network are that residents saw Walker floating in the Rio Minho about 10:00 am Tuesday and alerted the police. When lawmen fished him from the water, a gunshot wound was observed to the back of his head. Investigations are ongoing.
