Roadways Blocked As rains Pelt Corporate Area
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Heavy rains lashing the island since Monday morning have left several roadways in the Corporate Area inundated, resulting in widespread traffic pile-up.
Earlier today the police urged motorists to stay away from the intersection of Mountain View Avenue and Windward Road in east Kingston as the area was flooded.
Mona Road was also flooded with only the bravest of motorists venturing through the rising water.
The Grant's Pen Road ford in the vicinity of Fagan Avenue, Kingston 8, is also impassible.
And along Maxfield Avenue in the Kingston 10 area several motorists were forced to seek assistance as the rushing water disabled their vehicles.
The Meteorological Service has forecast continued heavy rain tonight and throughout Tuesday.
