Downtown Vendors Affected By Sewage Water

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Downtown Kingston vendors are raising concern over a sewage problem at the intersection of Darling and Beckford streets that they say have been seriously affecting business and their health for months. The vendors say they have repeatedly reported the problem but nothing has been done. "We are tired of the promise that Authorities continue to make about how they are going to address this sewage problem," complained Earl, a long-time ‘Downtown’ vendor. Another vendor said that the over flow running along the street has made it impossible for him to operate his food business. The vendors say there are urging the Authorities to address the sewage overflow before it results in an outbreak of disease.
