EX NFL PLAYER FOUND DEAD AT HOME

Former NFL star Reggie Rogers was found deaRogers, whose personal life has been plagued with trouble since leaving the NFL, was found dead in the yard of a friend’s home. The cause of death is not yet known, but a friend of the 49-year-old said he had a bad heart and had suffered seizures in the past. The Detroit Lions selected Rogers in the first round of the 1987 NFL draft, but his career came unglued when he killed three teenagers in a drunk driving crash in Michigan in 1988. In 1990, he was convicted of vehicular homicide and sentenced to 16 months in prison. By the end of the 1992 season, Rogers was out of football entirely.d Thursday afternoon in Seattle, according to a family friend. He later moved back to Washington state, where one DUI arrest followed another. His fifth arrest came in November 2008, when he hit another driver on Interstate 5 on the day before Thanksgiving and then fled the scene. Witnesses said he was weaving all over the freeway before the crash. Rogers was sentenced to two years in prison and 240 days home monitoring for that DUI in June 2009, but evidently was released early. Rogers was charged with domestic violence assault just this month. We’re praying for his family and friends…
