The Jamaican dollar climbed to a new high against the US benchmark today at the close of foreign exchange trading today. The American dollar gained $0.27 to finish at a new average selling price of J$105.16 to US$1. Meanwhile the Canadian dollar strengthened by $0.89 to end trading at an average of J$102.20 to $CAN1 and the British pound closed trading at J$169.84 to £1 when it gained $0.80. On the markets the American dollar sold for a high of $109.14 and a low of $102.0.
