“MASTERCHEF” Finalist Kills Himself

A troubled Chicago chef who was a finalist last year on TV’s “MasterChef” shot himself to death according to police. 26-year-old Joshua Marks was found just after 6:30 p.m. Friday in an alley in the 9700 block of South Peoria on the South Side. Marks, who lived nearby, had been shot once in the head, and a gun was found near his body, according to police and the medical examiner’s office, which conducted an autopsy Saturday and ruled the death a suicide. Marks was runner-up to winner Christine Ha in 2012 during the third seasohiMarks, who stood 7-feet, 2 inches tall, suffered from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, according to news reports. He’d been arrested on the South Side in the early morning hours on July 29 for attacking a police officer and told the police he was possessed by Ramsay, who turned him into God.
