The New York Times is reporting that the leader of the Al Shabab militant group was seized by a US Navy Seal Team during a predawn operation in Baraawe, Somali today. Al Shaabab has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack on the West Gate mall in Nairobi, Kenya which saw 61 persons killed and dozens injured in the over four-day siege. The attack in Nairobi prompted the operation by the Navy Seal team and witnesses told the NY Times that the firefight between US forces and the militant group last for over an hour.
