THROWS SHADE & PRAISE AS TLC CRUSHES RATINGS!

The R&B trio TLC hasn’t had a new Top 40 hit in more than a decade, but VH1 discovered the group still has plenty of fans.“CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story,” a made-for-TV movie about the group, premiered Monday and gave VH1 its best ratings in 5years, with 4.5 million total viewers, according to Nielsen. The biopic also spiked sales of a compilation album, “20,” on the iTunes chart Tuesday. TLC was one of the biggest pop acts of the 1990s, with hits including “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.” One of the members, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, died in a car accident in 2002 and the group went into a lengthy hiatus. But it has re-emerged in recent years, including to perform a medley several years ago on “American Idol.”Reina “Reigndrop” Lopes, the sister of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, was also pleased with how the film turned out. However she would have liked more input into her sister’s portrayal, she sang praises about the film and Lil’ Mama’s performance. “It would have been nice if Lisa’s family would have been invited to take part in this journey of making the TLC movie. Honestly, I think it would have added depth to Lisa’s on screen character. I think Lil Mama did a good job at portraying my sis. She did her homework and studied Lisa. As a fan, I know it was important for Lil Mama to represent Lisa correctly–and she did just that! Although the script didn’t allow her to bring Lisa’s true character to light. She did the best with what she had to work with. All the girls did a good job!” What did you think of “CrazySexyCool” on VH1? Which group do you want to see NEXT?
