312 Persons Arrested For Electricity Theft In Portland
A total of 312 persons have been arrested so far this year, in connection with the illegal extraction of electricity from the Jamaica Public Service in Portland, up to Friday November 8, 2013. The figure was revealed by Customer Care and Field Service Manager at the JPS Lorraine Phillips at the Monthly Meeting of the Portland Parish Council on Friday November 15. Phillips revealed that the figure included many business operators and most of the arrests were made in East Portland. The JPS Customer Care and Field Service Manager warned that the JPS would not relent in its drive, and would be targeting everyone as they seek to rid the parish of this illegal activity.
