Big Boi & Andre 3000 Join Forces Again For OUTKAST Reunion….For REAL!
Despite heavy skepticism—including from us here at BMS —a reunion by the Atlanta hip hop duo has been confirmed.
Diddy’s just-launched Revolt TV confirmed the rumors earlier TUESDAY NIGHT, following reports this afternoon that the group was “in talks” to perform at Coachella next April. The Coachella appearance is just one in a number of planned stops.
Revolt’s sources say that that André 3000 and Big Boi are only currently planning for the festival circuit, as opposed to an independent reunion tour, and there is no new album planned.
While an official announcement has yet to come out and specifics are far from locked, the news is great for fans who haven’t seen Outkast onstage since 2004, around the time of their monster hit, “Hey Ya!”
Since the group put out Idlewild in 2006, Big Boi has released a couple of well-received solo albums, while Three Stacks has provided a bunch of guest verses. 2014 also marks the twentieth anniversary of Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, the group’s debut album.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? YOU EXCITED?
