NFL STAR CAUGHT EATING WEED!

Falcons running back Jason Snelling was arrested after being found in possession of marijuana. “We are aware of the situation concerning Jason Snelling and are in the process of gathering additional information,” the team said in a statement released to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Because this is an on-going legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time.” Snelling did not participate in practice on Friday. He is listed on the injury report with a non-injury related/knee injury. He was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. Snelling, a reserve running back, has 36 rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown this season. Snelling has 19 catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns. In the past, Falcons coach Mike Smith has played players who have had brushes with law… In 2008, safety Lawyer Milloy played after he was arrested on drunk driving charges. In 2009, defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux played after a marijuana arrest. In Dec. of 2009, kick returner Eric Weems was arrested and didn’t miss any action. In 2012, running back Michael Turner was arrested for drunk driving on his way home from Magic City and did not miss any action. Earlier this week, Chiefs coach Andy Reid noted that he couldn’t discipline wide receiver Dwayne Bowe because of collective bargaining agreement rules until the case is adjudicated. Snelling has not had any prior arrests and it is not known if he’s in the NFL’s substance abuse program. Falcons running back Jason Snelling was reportedly arrested after police said they caught him possessing — and trying to eat — marijuana. The arresting officer said he pulled Snelling over at 3:35 a.m. after seeing that his car wasn’t staying in its lane. The officer said he noticed a strong odor of marijuana and said that when he asked Snelling about it, Snelling admitted that he had been smoking marijuana earlier that evening. “I asked Mr. Snelling if there was any other marijuana in the vehicle, and he told me that there was a grinder in the center console of the vehicle and that it had a little bit of marijuana left in it,” the arresting officer wrote in his report. “I searched the vehicle and located a metal grinder where Mr. Snelling had said it was.” The officer said that while the vehicle was being searched, he noticed that Snelling was repeatedly swallowing, so he asked Snelling to open his mouth and saw what appeared to be marijuana inside his mouth as well. Snelling was charged with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug related materials, expired or no driver’s license, failure to maintain lane, failure to maintain insurance, improper use of dealer license plate and no registration. Snelling has since made bond. WTH! What do you think?
