Vybz Kartel’s legal team, lead by Tom Tavares-Finson, also say they are ready to proceed. Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is on trial for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. The “Benz Punany” deejay, who has been behind bars since September of 2011, has maintained his innocence. Police say Kartel and his co-accused killed Williams over a missing firearm. If convicted he could be sentenced to life in prison.
