Women are about half as likely to have an orgasm during a casual hookup than during a committed relationship, according to a study of hundreds of college students by the Kinsey Institute. But these women are still seeking out casual sex for benefits—physical and emotional—other than their own pleasure. “It’s just sort of like having the experience, and having somebody that you can call or you can like, whose house you can spend the night in if you don’t feel like you want to be going home alone,” one recent graduate said. “It almost is weirdly irrelevant whether or not the sex is actually good.” Well damn.
