Cop Injured In Shooting Outside US Capitol

At least one police officer was injured Thursday afternoon in a shooting incident outside the US Capitol in Washington DC, US media have reported. A female suspect has been held in relation to the shooting, media reports said. According to reports the woman rammed a barricade at the White House with her vehicle before starting to shoot. The US Capitol was placed on a security lockdown amid reports of shots being fired outside the building. People standing outside the Supreme Court across the street from Congress were hurried into the court building by authorities. In a notice distributed by email, the US Capitol Police advised everyone to "close, lock and stay away from external doors and windows. The notice said gunshots have been reported on Capitol Hill.
