Jamaica Teachers' Association Pledges Support For Holmwood Students & Staff

MANCHESTER, Jamaica -- The Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA) a short while ago extended condolences to the parents of the three Holmwood Technical High School students who died in the three-vehicle collision in Chudleigh district, Manchester Wednesday morning. The JTA in a statement sympathised with the teachers and students at Holmwood and pledged the organisation’s support in helping through the traumatic period. Acknowledging that investigations are ongoing, the JTA appealed to motorists "especially those who transport members of the public, especially our school children, to be particularly careful on the nation’s roads". Initial reports are that 22 students are being treated at hospital in Mandeville. One student said to be in critical condition was airlifted to the Kingston Public Hospital.
