Jamaican - Sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Meets The Mandela Family
KINGSTON, Jamaica - Sprint sensation Shelly-ann Fraser-Pryce Thursday met the Mandela family in New York, USA.
She had informed her fans via her Facebook page yesterday, that she would join the Mandela family in the Zenani Mandela Campaign 'Long Short Walk'. According to her Facebook post, the initiative honours the memory of Nelson Mandela's great-granddaughter who was killed by a drunk driver in June 2010. The campaign is aimed at tackling the number 1 killer of young people aged 15 and over - road injury, her post said.
Fraser-Pryce, an ambassador for the National Road Safety Council, also urged motorists to abide by the road codes and resist the urge to speed, while expressing condolences to the families of the students of the Holmwood Technical High School who died in a three-vehicle collision in Chudleigh, Manchester Wednesday.
