Alia Atkinson Wins Gold In Dubai

Alia Atkinson won Gold in the women's 100m Breaststroke event at the start of the Dubai leg of the 2013 FINA Swimming World Cup held today. Atkinson with a reaction time of 0.65 won the event in a blistering time of 1:02.91s (PB), ahead of Russia's Iulila Efimova who was second in 1:04.00s and Israel's Amit Ivry was third after clocking 1:06.70s. In the earlier event, Atkinson finished sixth with a time of 27.82s in the women's 50m Backstroke, as the event was won by Poland's Aleksandra Urbanczyk.
