Deshorn Brown To Make Debut For Boyz

Coach Winfried Schafer has included four USA-based players in his starting team to tackle the hosts here at Sporting Park on Friday evening starting 5:30. Of the lot, Colorado Rapid striker and Rookie of the Year contender Deshorn Brown will make his debut. The others are Vancouver Whitecaps forward Darren Mattocks, Portland Timbers attacker Ryan Johnson and FC Dallas midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson. In a revised formation (4-3-3) and an attacking one at that, Brown, Mattocks and Johnson will lead the attack, while the midfield will consists of Watson, Leeds United's Rodolph Austin and Reading FC's Jobi McAnuff. The four-prong defence is made up of Crystal Palace's Adrian Mariappa and Leicester City's Wes Morgan, who will play in the heart of defence, while Aalesund's Demar Phillips will play left side and Watford's Lloyd Doyley will operate on the right. Duwayne Kerr of Sarpsborg will tend goal. Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jermaine 'Teddy' Johnson and Houston Dynamo defender Jermaine Taylor, who were both expected to have places in the team, have been ruled out injured, claimed a JFF release. Starting XI: GK- Duwayne Kerr; Defenders – Lloyd Doyley, Wes Morgan, Adrian Mariappa, Demar Phillips; Midfielders - Rodolph Austin, Je-Vaughn Watson, Jobi McAnuff; Forwards – Ryan Johnson, Darren Mattocks and Deshorn Brown.
