Four Christians have been reportedly sentenced to eighty lashes for drinking communion wine. The four men were charged with consuming alcohol in violation of Iran’s strict theocracy laws following their arrest at a house in December 2012. According to the Christian Solidarity World the accused men were then sentenced on October 6 and have ten days to appeal their sentencing. The United Nations has condemned Iran’s human rights record.
