St Thomas Residents Protest 'Salla' Shooting Death

ST THOMAS, Jamaica — A small group of residents in Morant Bay, St Thomas, Thursday morning took to the streets in protest against the police killing of a man known as ‘Salla’. Salla, whose correct name is Solomon Johnson was shot and killed by the police in Dumfries, St Thomas, on Tuesday in an alleged shoot-out. The angry protesters are however insisting that the police killed Salla in cold blood. "We want justice and we not going stop until we get it," one of the angry, placard-bearing residents shouted. She was part of a group of women as they marched through the rural town toward the Morant Bay Police Station.
