Alia Atkinson cops gold and bronze medals in Singapore
On day two of action at the FINA Swimming World Cup 2013 in Singapore today, Jamaica’s Alia Atkinson picked up two more medals at the event. Atkinson won Gold in the women’s 50m final with a blistering time of 28.94s only .14 milliseconds away from the World Record to beat Russia’s Iuliia Efimova of Russia (29.25s) and Germany’s Dorothea Brandt (30.39s). The Jamaican copped Bronze in the Women’s 100m Individual Medley event with a time of 58.42s to finish with 965 points. Hungary’s Katinka Housszu (58.29s) won gold while Alicia Coutts (58.32s).
