US Senate Rejects House funding Bill As Shutdown Nears

A funding bill to delay the health care law brought by the House of Representatives has been rejected by the Senate as the shutdown of the federal government draws closer. As the impasse drags on Congress has less than ten hours to avert a total shutdown which would see non-essential workers being sent home without being paid.
