Medina Heckled By Pro-Haitian Group At UN Conference

Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina was today heckled by a group of women during a speech to open the UN’s 12th Latin America and Caribbean Regional Conference on Women in Santo Domingo. The pro-Haitian group bearing placards began shouting “We are all Haiti” once Medina began to speak. Other women at the conference shouted “We are Dominican” right back at the hecklers. It took close to three minutes before calm returned and Medina was allowed to continue his speech.
